The Lord gives and takes away, but...

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. This is true.

But this is also true...The Lord takes away and He gives anew!

Throughout the Bible we see the Lord take away. He took people from places. He took things from people. But He also gives anew.

Isaiah 66:9 “In the same way I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord.”

If you are in a “take away” place, keep a lookout! Keep close to God. He is bringing something new.

I have seen this play out in my own life time and again. God is always leading us deeper into Him. Deeper into His purposes for our lives. And this can often look like being “taken away.” And sometimes this “taking away” is the pruning. John 15:2 “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

God prunes us! He takes us away from the things that are dead in our lives. He removes us from people and situations that are fruitless. There are attitudes that he needs to strip away. There are places where he needs us surrendered. We may find ourselves in uncomfortable even painful circumstances. But God doesn’t leave us there.

If you are in a “take away” place, don’t despair. The Lord gives anew.

Many times a place of "take away" can feel like a dead end, but with God there are no dead ends because...

Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
